The pump defence was not the quickest to fall, I rember comments being made in the deadzone as everyone was watching the clock to get past the 58 minute mark.

I thought it was more like 1 hour and 2 minutes.

That's the question...

Should it be recorded as per the game clock, or should there be some note that the extra time was... artificial?

Now, a follow up questions. Do you recall how often the Castle Seige was played, was it just in the fall... and was it run in '94 & '95?
No idea, I am afraid... I only went to that one.

I am going to guess that there may have been only one though. If I am not mistaken, it was not too much after that that Blue and co. got control of the place.

As for which time keeping to use, the history must include the whole story, asterisk or not. An ethical historian does not get to choose what data goes in and what is discarded.

Which means for fall 2006 the smoke issue which contributed to fast attrition of defensive players and the player injury which caused serious confusion and lead to all sorts of problems should be indicated.

Are you talking about that time you got shot with the paintball?

You considering mild bruising to be an injury? What kind of whimp are you?

Nope, you'd already left and the whisteled the game to a stop because a guy had fallen on the second floor and had to be removed from the game.... of course a lot of people thought the whistle meant the game was over so you had the standard rush of attackers into the castle with refs then trying to get them out of the way.. and then trying to reset the game with people that were supposed to go back to where they were when the whistle blew... yeah sure that worked well

Well, ultimatly I'd like to see this turn into a site (or at least a page) where all the details of each event can be committed to record. There's a lot more in these games then just the headline defense team and the attendance. You've got those teams leading the attack, the guest teams that defended, the weather, which games are on DVD, etc, etc... not to mention the post game party stories. There's just as much off the field crap as there is on field. Fireworks before lawyers got involved, kegs, Captain Morgan, fire walking through the bonfire, puking in bunks, puking on porches, puking in shoes... all that and a thousand other stories.

One of my favorite parts of the game play...

275fps with no 10 foot rule.

Yeah, Bomber wasn't afraid to drop $400+ on the boom-booms. And it was always the loud stuff, never the pretty things. A lot of near misses, and drunken stupidity contributed to the shut down...

There was the casual handfuls of quarter sticks tossed into the fire, there were rockets flying into tents... under cars... and used to launch blue barrels 40 feet in the air...

My favorite... a large piece of spent casing falling back to earth and just missing EMR's underwriter, with bird in hand, down near the barn... No es bueno. Guy couldn't take a joke.

We're lucky no one was hurt... but damn it that was a good time. On JF we refer to this period as the "Wild West" days at EMR.

I almost brought one of my 10lb smokers, for the party (not the game), but someone was seriously injured this spring when a smoker exploded, so it seemed in poor taste to bring it.

Anyway, if you going to make a site devoted to it, why not all the special events? My team (Devil Dogs) were always a big fan of the Grail Quest games. Seems the grail games ended up getting absorbed into the Castle Conquest games, at least in spirit.
