| Rec Poster | Castle Conquest history (Transplanted post from PeanutButterNation) I thought a new pool to draw from might help me fill in the rest of the blanks. The original posts can still be seen at Castle Conquest history... I'm a bit of a CC buff, but I'm looking for some help. There have now been 25 Castle Conquest played since the first one in the spring of '96. Unfortunately, no official records were ever kept as to who defended, what the attendance was, what the weather was like, or what the outcomes were... Here's what I have as far as the defenders go... and this is by no means etched in stone, it's mostly what I recall and/or pulled up on the net. 1996 Castle I - Swamp Rats (lose) Castle fell after 5+hrs/ Attendance 275(+/-) Castle II – JF (lose) Castle fell after 6.5 hours/ Attendance 125(+/-) 1997 Castle III - ? Castle IV - Can Con (lose) Castle fell in 58 mins. 1998 Castle V – Boneheads & F-troop (lose) Castle fell after 3hrs 45mins. Attendance: 401 (80 def/ 321 attack) Castle VI – JF (lose) Castle fell in 2 hrs 1999 Castle VII – Damage Inc (lose) Castle fell in 63 minutes Castle VIII - ? 2000 Castle IX – JF Castle X - ? 2001 Castle XI - ? Castle XII - ? 2002 Castle XIII - ? (lose) The castle fell in 68 mins. 755 players Castle XIV - JF (lose) Castle fell in 4 hours 17 minutes. 2003 Castle XV - Pub Crawling Castle XVI – Stock Marshals (lose) All pump defense. Castle fell in 59.5mins/ Attendance 590. 2004 Castle XVII - Blue’s Crew (lose) Castle fell in 1 hour 52 minutes Castle XVIII – DOTW & Carter's Commando 2005 Castle XIX – JF (lose) Castle fell in 3 hours 42 minutes/ Attendance 811 Castle XX – Jersey Titans (lose) Castle fell 1 hour 38 minutes 2006 Castle XXI – Blue’s Crew (lose) Castle fell in 3 hours 50 minutes/ Attendance 1,054 Castle XXII – Carter’s Commandos (lose) Castle fell in 1 hour 40 minutes/ Attendance 643 2007 Castle XXIII – JF Castle XXIV – Can Con 2008 Castle XXV - Blue's Crew (lose) Attendance 1290(+/-) as per Blue. 3hr 35mins on my watch. Castle XXVI - Joint Fury There are plenty of CC vets floating around here, so any help would be greatly appreciated... and hell, drop a story or two. In game or post game... Castle Facts Oct 2, 1993: "First Annual Castle Siege" and "Rock 'N Roll Weekend with Triple XXX" at "Adventureworld" (which later became EMR Paintball) _________________________________________ From Castle I through IX, to win a defense you needed to hold from 10am to 5pm. _________________________________________ At Castle II there was a lunch break _________________________________________ Castle X began the 3 props in 2 hours (6 props total) rule style _________________________________________ Castle XX, the number of props was raised from 6 to 10 to celebrate the 10yr anniversary. The minimum requirement for props was raised from 3 in 2hrs to 4 in 3 hrs. _________________________________________ Castle XXV required attackers pull 5 props in 4 hours to have a successful attack. _________________________________________ Until recently, defenders could not move, stack, or set up any defensive positions until the morning of the game. (I'm not exactly sure when that rule changed.) _________________________________________ CC XXII was the last time players were allowed to use their own smoke canisters/grenades. Health reasons and such.

| Village Idiot | I think the official count on the spring 07 game was 1349. This is a great idea with as many regulars as we have there maybe we should keep track of this (Sticky) for future Castles also?

| So you are only interested in the Castle Conquest as administered by EMR? The first one I ever attended was on the same spot, but it was called "Adventure Games" then and I think that was in 1993-4. I have a patch somewhere. I think Blue was involved by then, but he was not the full owner. I have digi pics (of varying degrees of quality) for each Castle going back to 2000. Not sure what good they would be to you, but we might be able to determine the weather at least. Also, not for nothing, but Castle XVIII was billed as a "joint" defense by DOTW and Carter's Commando. | Also note that castle 22 was the last game where players were allowed to use their own smoke canisters, as there were some thrown inside the castle and causing health problems for defenders who got stuck in the walls. |
