Hi,

Unlike the paintball snob known as Drum, I am going with friends. Many of the CC guys are not running this event due to their dislike of certain aspects of this game like fair play and basic safety. (I think that hits it on the head. ) The event is more of a paying hang out with my store's team and still be able to play paintball when I want to thing. We have 35 people, a couple of campers, a number of tents, and a couple of big canopies for the compound. Most of the guys on the team I have been playing with for years so it is more of a loyalty thing.

Yeah I said I would never go again but last weekend the team asked if I was going. I called some other members of the team that were out of the loop since they did not live locally to the shop. They asked if I were going and said well yeah I guess. All of them play paintball only a few times of the year. The one guy likes this game for whatever reason. I think it is the only big game he was able to make it with us in the past 18 months. (Has 2 jobs with weird hours, saving for his wedding and for a house or other place outside his parents house.)

I figure if people start being arseholes and game breaksdown, I will just breakdown my gear and hang out in camp for the rest of the time. Afterall we will have a projector screen with Xbox and DVD movies for the night time plus some adult type bevs for the liquid portion of the event.

Also I thought Pre reg was over and Skirmish said the game was "sold out". To me that sounds like they will not turn you away at the gate since you will give them even more money on the field. The people on PBN (you can stop the booing now) are trying to claim quality over quantity game this year. I say I will believe that when I see it. If it looks like the refs are going to work this year and they actually pull people after they get shot, awesome that is a step in the right direction. If not, I will probably stop caring about the game play and walk off the field.

So I don't know bud. I know a couple of teh frenchies this year. I play with one of the guys once in a while when he joins our group at EMR. he is a decent player. Our group is German like every year they have played. We wear clashing colors for woods ball so we can see one another on the field. It makes it easier to link up and tear up a section of the field at the same time.

Have fun and stay safe. Skirmish runs a big field for this game.

I wasn't planning on going this year but Rob Wood asked my team to attend and play French so I couldn't turn that down.

Hopefully it will be a safer game this year. We'll see.

I would expect rampant cheating and wiping to occur because it always has. Tends to be the reason I spend most of the game role playing rather than shooting. Most times I don't even carry a marker.

I expect to be disappointed in the game itself. I don't plan on going next year. But I couldn't say no to General Rob.

So if I am a "paintball snob", then what does that make you, Shag? A paintball slut?

I think you just like to go to Skirmish because you are not having any fun unless you are complaining about something. Where better than Skirmish for that?

One trip to ION..and that was enough for me.

Solid Projectile shot through tank window
Kid jumping on tank and shoving barrel into mask
"Mask's Optional" attitude on field
NO HEAD REF...was told there were 3 and none could override anothers call
tank driving on beach at 30+mph ( to avoid us killing them..lol)
Speedball in Parkinglot...both days
campers shooting rounds OVER other campsite..."But towards the field man"

after a small talk with a Paintball Warrior who will remain nameless...A leader of warriors if you will..lol. " I don't go to play paintball just to spend the entire day reffing on the field for the sake of safty...." besides, that field is the closest I have ever come to tearing a ****ing head off a player...I only just caught myself and backed down a step away from the kid/man whatever he was...in my mind he was just the target.

when the field ownerships changes or somebody I trust tells me the place has things under control...i would love to go back, cause I do love playing paintball and there were aspects of that game I really liked.

Co-owner of Skirmish has told me on more than one occasion that he doesn't care if anyone comes to his field a second time. All he needs/wants is to get everyone to attend just once.

I have been there WAY more than once, but in recent years, I decided that once is MORE than enough for that place until, as Repo aptly put it above, things and people change.

Cheers and may god bless all that attend this game. Try not to do a nazi salute at the postgame.
