I highly recommend Armored Fist if you want to do some researching into what different people use for tanks.

I built this one a few years ago out of an old Ford Aerostar van.

Unfortunately our driver killed it at Skirmish's ION 06. We never found the source of the short that killed it, and honestly it was a huge hassle. I wont do a full size ever again.

you can also check out Lightning Force Paintball Team - Since 1986

They are friends of ours who have a 6 wheeler based tank. There are some photos of it in the gallery.

6 wheelers seem to be a very popular tank platform along with Gators. If you can get your hands on one, I'd recommend it. 6 Wheelers can be a little finicky but if you can get them to work well, they really are the best.

I planned on removing the spare all together. Put 2 scubas on the front and a turret in the back. On shooter sitting up front with th driver and one shooter in the turret. I realize its only rated for 600lbs but as mentioned this will not be built for speed. It looks like a pretty solid platform to build form and I wont need to be taking off anything useless I dont need.

Ok call me crazy but I was thinking about using something like a geo tracker. Heres the catch. I want to be able to drive it to the field since I don't have a truck to tow it. My only concern would be the windshield. Anyone know of some way to allow it to fold down and then back up for road use? The car will be insured so that will not be and issue. I can screen in everything else but if I could figure out how to fold down the windshield and put screen for play Ill be good to go.

Hmmmmm..
Suzuki sidekick...Probably can get one from a junkyard pretty cheap, I think some even had a fold down windshield.

Windshield will hold. Side windows wont.

I wouldn't try and use something you want to be able to drive to the field unless you know someone who is going to be able to tow the car back out. There's a good chance you'll break something and you don't want to be relying on being able to drive it home. If you can't trailer it, don't build it. Best advice I can give you.
