Market research

So what themes would you the players like to see?

More of what you have already played?

Something new?

Would you go to a game that was not based off of a popular movie or book series?

How about something totally original and unique?

Lets hear some ideas who knows maybe you will see some of these games in the next few years.

No Series of games like Doctor Who complete with Dalek props?

No ShadowRun games?

No one wants to play E.E. Knights Vampire Earth?

Nothing?

I think you are trying to push the sci-fi fantasy stuff to much. As much as "I" like it, I don't think it is the best thing to use.

While I am sick of WWII games there are still tons of other things. Go old school revolutionary and just have everyone stand off in huge lines facing the other side.

Having missed the X-com game (also the greatest turn-based strategy game of all time) that MXS put on years back, I'd like to see another production of that.

I am not a huge fan of RTS games. Leaves way to many options and things can be neglected. One game I signed up to medic. Our commanders did not buy medic supplies the entire game. I was kind of upset about that. We spent all the points on "nukes" or something, that irritated me. Why even have people sign up for rolls if they are probably not even going to be used.

So what themes would you the players like to see?
-I prefer military or police action based games [military Sci-Fi a close 3rd] but the story line is not of the utmost importance but the layout of the SCENARIO is important
More of what you have already played?
-cumulative missions i.e. one mission leads to another, leads to another…etc
-open book formats where the main objectives are known to the generals and they work out the details to accomplish the objective by a specific time [works in conjunction with above]
Would you go to a game that was not based off of a popular movie or book series?
-Definitely given the “story”/scenario is interesting and at a good field.
How about something totally original and unique?
-always game for something new, you never know you might like it better.
Let’s hear some ideas who knows maybe you will see some of these games in the next few years.
-Corporate Wars where competing companies decide the outcome of disputes/lawsuits on the Field of Battle. Each CEO recruits his “mercenaries” before the event to a given drop dead date then anyone registering after that is distributed to even up teams.

Harb, I couldn't possibly agree with you more.

but, then, I'm of the opinion that the general's #1 job is to ensure that the players on his/her side are having fun and doing what they want to do.

I posted some slightly more original ideas for a scenario on the Lucky 7 forums.

My main idea was for "Battle of the Bands"
two factions face off, the Juke Box Heroes vs. The Atomic Metal-Heads
On the field...
It would involve running missions, in order to earn points, and recover props called "Hit Singles" which would basically be a CD with the name of a song written on it.

Then off field the action would continue in the staging area...
The Frontmen (generals) would send certain players off field once a "Hit Single" was recovered, and they would have to try playing that song on a multi-media setup using Guitar Hero. Depending on how the rocker does determines how many bonus points his/her team can earn.

I've pretty much got the outline of the story that just needs to be fleshed out a bit more. Not that I expect many true scenario ballers would need an instruction manual to know how to rock !

Maybe a prequil to "Demolition Man" explaining how when the cola wars went hot, the end result was Taco bell becomming the only restaurant left. That could be an interesting story line to span a bunch of different events.
