The United States Military Academy at West Point Paintball team proudly presents our Fall 08 Scenario: The Battle Of the Bulge

Below is the info as it stands right now. We've been given the go ahead for the game and prices will be finalized shortly. Expect them to be similar to the spring game.

General Info:
Date: September 20th and 21st, play on both days
Where: Training Areas V and W on RT 293, Across from Camp Buckner

Prices:
Registration: Price To be determined, registration gets you both days of play,free camping, free air and CO2 both days, and an entry into the prize raffle/giveaway at the end of gameplay on Sunday

Paint: TBD, two brands will be available, FIELD PAINT ONLY.

Facilities: Free camping, porta-johns, water tanks all on spot

Chrono/firing modes: Chrono will be at 280 FPS, all firing modes allowed

GUN HITS COUNT

Anti tank weapons are allowed, the only projectile that can be shot are the small nerf footballs. Chrono speed will be put out later, all anti tank/special weapons will be checked by the head ref and approved by myself before use.

The scenario will be based off of the WWII battle fought in the European theater at the Ardennes forest, known as the Battle of the Bulge.

Sides:
Mr. Eric Engler will be leading the US Army forces as they take on the advancing German army. We are looking for a strong leader and team to head up the German opposition. Please contact me (CDT Grimm or Guard Dog) here on pbnation via PM and we will talk.

Time line: (Times are tentative but are a good indication of when things are happening)

Friday September 19th
No earlier than 2PM-: Camp site opens, campers can begin setting up
No later than 6 PM: Registration and pre reg check in opens
----10 PM---Quiet time enforced, generators off, campsite is quiet

Saturday September 20th
No later than 6AM: Registration, pre reg check in, paint and air are open
-----9AM----Opening ceremony, safety/player brief
-----10AM----Game on
----Dusk---Saturday game play stops (No lunch break)

Sunday September 21st
No later than 6 AM: Registration, paint and air are open
-----8AM-----Safety/player brief for Sunday play
-----9AM-----Game play resumes
-----2PM-----Game play ends, followed immediately by awards ceremony and prize give away
-----4PM-----All players have left camping area, area cleared by range control

A few admin notes:
Pre-registration info will be up on Army Paintball:: as soon as possible along with maps of the playing area.

No alchohol, drugs, or firearms allowed. No pets, no fireworks, no open fires or campfires. No Nazi uniforms or accessories. German WWII era uniforms are ok. Check with myself if you have any doubt before the game.

Tanks will be allowed, must have the ability to tape a "kill box" to them via masking tape. Tanks must have a visual elimination indicator, IE, a white flag. Tanks must register before the game and have all of the mentioned equipment.

We had a HUGE showing at our spring game and I know we will be attracting some quality players to this event as well. Spread the good news about Army Paintball and I'll see you in September! (Or earlier if I find some time to get out and play here in the Northeast.)

A JCS launcher perhaps, or is it something more exotic?

We are working on the logistics now. That is the weekend before EMR's Fall Castle, and we are already commited to going there, so we will have to see what money and time will allow. We also aren't sure which side we will play on. On one hand we want to play for/with Engler, but on the other hand we'd like to run with the ERSA teams. At the moment I believe we are leaning toward playing with the Americans, but we will update you when we know!

Edit: PS: I am happy to see Nazi uniforms will NOT be allowed. I am all for roleplaying, but some of the people who like to play the Germans at this regions WWII games take it too seriously. One might wonder if they had the uniforms before they started playing paintball. I know it is only a select few, but I am relieved none-the-less.

No, no tank for us. That just isn't our style.

As for VVulfe's work schedule, we will just have to see...

Well, sadly it looks like ZDF will not be attending the Fall event at West Point. Work and school schedules have precluded it for most of us, and any time off we had, we already used toward Fall Castle @ EMR the next weekend. Hope to see some of you out there, and I expect to hear some great stories. If this game goes down like "Battle For the DMZ" did in the spring, it should be a blast!

(p.s. Duff: Humorously enough, there was a discussion at our team meeting tonight about the possibility of building a tank at some point in the future. It is not more than a though at this point, but it looks as if my previous post stands corrected!)
