Yeah, a horizontal stick feed on a semi is not going to be much fun without a spring. Much better off going vertical like Biteweasel suggests. Guaranteed feeding, easy to reload.

This thing has me tempted to try a tib again... I've always liked their bolt system (actually having a sear) a little better than the TPX and the frame is a much better fit and angle for my hands...
