Feed elbow for a Sheridan pump

I have just realized that a regular sized feed elbow will not fit on the larger feed tube on a Sheridan pump.
A search here finds nothing & the only other thing I can find on the net is a set from Palmers with an elbow & ammo box hopper but at $9.50 US I'm looking at $20 for a feed elbow by the time it gets here.
It seems from snipets of info I recall reading here & there that regular PVC pipe can be used to make a feed neck.
What diameter pipe do I need? At first I thought "I'll just bring the marker & measure the pipe against it in the store" but I can see that going wrong so many ways...

Take the grip frame off when you go into a store, it looks like pieces of pipe. Every time I take one of my markers into a store to find parts/screws i remove the trigger frame, most people will just look at a pile of parts with out the pistol looking stuff on it.

If you want real elbows I have found them here http://store.paintballace.com/1x1anelcl.html buy a pile of them at a time to keep the overall cost down.

Allen Paintball makes excellent elbows in both 7/8" and 1" feedneck sizes. They're virtually indestructible, and pretty darn cheap too. They're under "Miscellaneous" about halfway down the page.

The 1" elbows pop up on ebay now and then too. Or, you can be like me and just accumulate them over time by buying old markers and parts lots. Another alternative is to buy a 7/8" sleeve from Palmer's. They are just a piece of black anodized tube to press into the Sheridan feedneck. They are often found on strokers and Palmerized Sheridans, but can be purchased individually from their catalouge.

You can also make your own out of 3/4" copper pipe.

Or if you happen to own a Talon, Stingray, or any other older BE marker, the elbow that came with it should work well.

I've taken my markers into hardware stores many times without a problem. However, I live in Wyoming, we do have a bit of a different attitude about those things.

I use a hank of heater hose. It came on my prolite, I ended up sticking it on my PMI1 when I realized that I'd forgot the new feedneck I'd bought and the other one was broken. It's indestructible, and cheaper than those Atomic ones...The only difference is that your hopper will be at a 45* angle to the world...

Catchya on the Flip Side.....

Emerald Wolf -- I used about 2" or so...
