VM-68 Questions

What is the correct way for screwing two tanks on a VM with a front and the back asa?

Also, somebody has given me a VL Orion to fix because it kept burping. I figured out that the person drilled a small hole in the vert. asa. Is there any way I could fix this?

Thanks

Best way to do it is,have one tank with an on/off valve on it so that you can shut one off before screwing them on.

If you don't have an on/off tank-
Screw 1st tank in slowly until it starts to hiss, then back it out so it seals again. Then screw in the other tank. Then screw 1st tank all the way in.

I'd also recommend using anti-siphons for a dual tank setup on a VM

I've used this method for many years on my old VM, as well as MegaZ.

Never had a problem, except for one oddball ASA that had an extra long pin. As long as the valve oring seats BEFORE contact with the pin, this method is easy.

I ran my VM on dual siphons before, though I not sure it matters, as long as you are consistent (ie all siphons, or all non-siphons).

Note, regardless of what tank you are using, just make sure you do the screwing, and unscrewing with the valve oriented so liquid does NOT entered. This will make sure the oring does not get sliced in the process.

I bought a Smart Parts On/Off for mine. It's like an ASA not a bottle valve. I screwed it in to the back ASA and shut it off, the I can run 1 or 2 bottles as I want. I run a 9 oz on front and 20 oz on back. Fun but heavy!

Those little smartvalves are handy. I wouldn't mind picking up a few more.

I'd bet you could also do it with check valves?

Install them inside each ASA, so that when you screw on one tank, it will seat the OTHER checkvalve, and hold the pressure in.

Well, it's not my VM. Somebody heard that I'm into paintball and they asked if I could fix it. They said that they couldn't run two tanks on it at the same time or it would start leaking. I haven't been able to fill both of my tanks lately so I can't tell yet.

Well, you can definetly run 2 tanks.

But regarding the VL ORION, where did they drill hole?

They might have messed up the depressor pin, and its not opening the pinvalve far enough?
So, the gun "burps" because its not getting enough pressure?
