| Never forget | PGP Valve/Cupseal
So I finally got this wretched PGP's valve out, and it needs a new cupseal. So, this is what I have. Can anyone tell me how to properly replace it? And what's with the little metal circle thingy? It's bent and chewed to pieces. It's in bad shape. So, how much trouble am I in? ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us In this picture, it looks like the cupseal that I was sent is different than the one that's already on there. Does that matter? ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Bent metal thing ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Thanks!

That "metal ring" is the lead seal. Just toss it in the trash and forget about it. The stems may look slightly different but that newer assembly should work fine. Honestly the old one doesn't look bad either. Was the gun leaking down the barrel or something? The main issue you have now is the threads on the valve are about gone. It'll go back together fine but I feel sorry for the next person who has to get the valve out... especially if a lead seal was ever put back in there.

I never tested it, actually. I got it off here from BenoitOWN and in the thread, it said it needed a new cupseal. So, here's where I stand now.

I'd say try the existing seal first to see if it actually does leak. If it does, there is something you can try. I haven't actually tried it myself but i heard it does work. You can take the cupseal, and chuck it in a drill, and as it's spinning, take some 600 grit sandpaper to the seal to true it up.

Face seal? Sorry for the ignorance. This is the first time I've seen the valve guts of a sheridan.

Face seal is the seal that the 12 gram presses against. Cupseal is the stem one.

Yeah, is there suppose to be a rubber thing there? Like, to act as a seal? Cause there's not... ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us
