Regarding the thread sizings:
#5/8-18UNF from the valve chamber to the center piece
#1/2-20UNF from center piece to piercing block

Could someone confirm this? The #1/2-20 is the closest thread I can find, but it seems slightly loose.

Thanks!

You're going to need new orings anyway, so the best bet is to soak the heck out of it with a serious penitrant/spray lube like Kroil, TSI, or something along those lines.

Hose down the thing in the gun, let it sit propped up so the oil stuff pools on the cartridge and keep trying to get it out from time to time. Repeat applications of spray every couple of days. Eventually it will pop out. I just had one that took months but it finally fell out and now I'm working on cleaning the damn thing up.

I have always had luck just soaking it in really hot soapy water, then useing a wooden dowel and a hammer to drive it out.

The only thing holding in a cart valve is the one screw (front grip frame) and 2 orings on the valve assembly. I use the dowel trick as well (I have some lengths of small PVC pipe for the task). Just beat it out of there.

Updated with both valve types / more info. Also added some links to other info. If you want stuff added to the top just drop me a note.
