I built that gun, trust me, the guide rod is NOT gonna come out w/o ruining the stock, I turned it very rough, it basically has lateral splines and I wood glued it in there, its not gonna come out. If you really want to eliminate it, you could cut it flush w/ the stock and sand it smooth, would look like a brass plug in it. I am kind of sad my pump handle still isn't on it.......it wasn't perfect but it was cool.

Actually, maybe cut it down so about 3/8 of an inch is left sticking out, and drill a hole in it to attach a buckle for a sling, if you plan to use one for it, it would be easier to do than sanding it flush (no worries of hitting the stain and needing to redo it), and still keep that part functional, it would be a shame to get rid of it alltogether. I can pretty much garauntee it wont pull out.

You could drill it cross wise or you could do it length wise in the end, and tap the hole for a bolt, maybe use it to mount something else, or still an end of a sling. You could do a lot with it really, you could use it to mount a small tank and asa if you want to do a CA setup, it is definetly solid.

Make a bayonet attachment to go on the guide rod.

I took some of the others ideas and put the wooden front on the guide rod to make a faux K2 looking stock. (I secured it with masking tape+ friction :P)

also, I still need a little help. I replaced the valve guide oring and the chamber plug oring and I'm getting <15 shots per 12ie. I was shooting about 300 with the worn down chamber plug oring. Would the new oring cause a boost in velocity causing my efficiency to stay the same?
