What is with the top tube? Looks like there is some cuts up there or something.

Looks like someone "ghetto ported" the barrel and made an opening in the top for viewing how many rounds you have left...not too keen on that...but at least it was done relatively cleanly.

One of the however many previous owners I have had ported it and cut the views into the top tube. Both though are clean on the inside and it shoots fine. Then the guy before me engraved words onto the side of it and etched them out with a dremel.

I have one last question. For a quick change could I lathe off the bottom 1/16" of threads or so? Seems like it would work.
