Is it a cartridge valve or noncartridge?

both cartridge and non-cartridge use 12 grams. You need to unscrew the back screw on the trigger frame and remove the back cap. Take out the main spring and bolt and look into the tube. If you see a squared nut looking thing you have a non-cartridge valve. if all you see is a flat brass piece it's a cartridge valve.

It's easier than that...

If it says "P-Series" on it, it's a non-cartridge valve.
If it says "PA-Series" on it, it is the newer, cartridge valve.

Is the Piercing Pin mangled? Is the Rubber O-ring surrounding the piercing pin still intact?

Just though those would be good questions to narrow down the leak.

It's probably the face seal. No matter what you're going to need to take it apart to fix the leak. The non-cartridge guns require a valve tool so if you don't have one maybe you can borrow one from someone local?
