Sometimes I don't get it.

Last week a decent condition p86sc sold on ebay in 100% working order with a video to prove it. Along with a stock. Sold for like $80 something. I was kicking myself for not having the extra $$ for it.

And then this week a NON working UNTESTED PMI-1 shows up and sells for $160??

I found a BEAUTIFUL PMI-1 on craigs list for like $140, in AWESOME condition, been palmerized (I think), had extended feed plug, RVA, etc.

Depends on who notices it really. If more potential buyers notice it then they'll compete for it.

True, trends play a big role. I remember when I first started out playing pump about 5 years ago. I was looking for a PPS superstocker as my next marker but boy you had to be fast to buy any second-hand palmers guns. They usually sold within a few days of the posting.

Mainly this. The goal of any decent ebay seller is to get multiple bidders to compete for an item. This is the only thing that will drive up the price. Outside of the item itself, there are a lot of factors at work there. I did some "testing" recently on some almost identical items and it's amazing at how different the item prices ended up with variations on the auction (starting price, duration, end day and time...etc).

In the end it will never completely make sense. Sometimes people just overpay especially when they're competing to get an item. I know I've done it..... set a mental "high bid" then find myself bidding way over that at the end of the auction.
