KPMI hammer

I hear a lot of people saying you have to mess with the hammer on a PMI to use a KP/Blue Streak trigger group. What has to be done exactly? I'll have the trigger group and a stock tomorrow, so I'll be able to post pictures of EXACTLY what I have. But can anyone explain what I need to do exactly?

most easily done with a blue streak (single lobe) sear/trigger plate and an oldstyle (solid round, unlike the modern 'lightened' ones pictured) hammer, just cut a little of the front of the bolt to create a new sear point (blackened area)

I'm getting this:

So all I need to do is cut that blackened area off my existing PMI hammer, and it'll work fine?

In all seriousness, if you need them, shoot me a PM. We can work something out. I don't need them.

Alright. I got the parts today. I know I still have to cut the hammer a bit, but here's another problem I've run into. This is what I have as my back cap thing currently:

See how there's just a little bit of a hole before it hits the screw? Here's the trigger I just got:

There's a much bigger opening and it's much deeper than on the cap I'm using right now. Do I need to cut the Blue Streak spring to make a longer spring so it'll work? Or am I just missing something? Sorry if what I posted is hard to understand.

Also, the hole that's drilled into the stock doesn't line up with the screw hole thingy on the bottom of the gun. It lines up with the little silver dot on the bottom. Do I need to drill a new hole, or am I miss something else? Imma KPMI noob, so bare with me.

The front screw mount for the original trigger frame will not work unless you drill a new hole in the stock. Most people grab whats called a 'pringle screw' I think. You will have to drill a new hole where is lines up with the one in the stock.

You can see the pringles screw in this thread:
http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/d...isc-parts.html

Because of how 'deep' that hole is on the back you will probably have to use the bluestreak spring and cut it. Best bet is to probably just cuz it and test velocity, then cut again, until you get the velocity down about where you need it. (I would also recommend you get an RVA put in the trigger group).

How do you plan to mount the trigger group? Did you have the cross pin drilled out?

I have a blue streak on the way, What else might I need??

On post 7 on this thread you can see a allen screw that was tapped into the trigger group to hold it in. It works, but usually most people dont like those. On post #8 you can see the correct cross pin that hold the trigger group in place and will be hidden in the stock once assembled.

I have been looking into this extensively. I have a P68SC waiting for a nice stock and trigger group. basically once I get it all back it will just bolt together. Only thing I will have to work on is the lever action ( ).

Oh and here is a thread that might help out:

sheridan p-series to k-series conversion thoughts...
