Quicksilver info

Ok, so I know what a quicksilver is. How dose it work ? Dose it screw in where the co2 knob is ? And can you still buy them ? I thought PPS made them, but I can't find any info on them. How much will one cost ? And I'm wanting to put it on a KP2 I just got, do I use the rod I already have ?
LOL That was a few questions. Thanks to anyone who has any info.
Honk.

I got mine with a squall and modified it to work in my p68. to make it longer replaced the nut on the end with a threaded coupler and used a piece of threaded rod cut to the appropriate length. once youre sure that it is at the right length use some lock-tite on the coupler and the threaded rod (but make sure not to lock-tite the coupler to the quicksilver or you wont be able to adjust the quicksilver tension!).

Something else you might want to look for....kind of similar....McMurry made a really cool changer. It was spring loaded. You push a button down to hold the 12 gram in place, then pull a sleeve toward you to release the 12 gram. I'll try to get pictures of mine later tonight when I go downstairs to do some work.

As promised.

Picture one is the whole view. To hold the 12 gram in you push the button on the front in. To release the 12 gram you gently pull the 2nd sleeve toward you and the spring releases pressure and the 12 gram drops out.

Picture two is the front button pressed in. You can see the back sleeve spring visible.

Last picture is after the tug backwards. Front button is now released along with spring tension holding the 12 gram in.

That's a cool changer. I bet those are rare as hen's teeth. I have a lead on a quick silver, I put the first 12ie in my KP this evening, the pump handle don't come forward enough to let the 12gr drop out without unscrewing the changer all the way. Can I get a longer pump rod without to much trouble ? 1/2 an inch would be plenty I'd say.
