Purge Valve on KP2

I was wanting to do something new on my kp2 that i am going to be refinishing, and i just hated when i needed to change 12 grams and the bugger wouldnt unscrew because of the pressure still in the 12ie.... Now i know the k1 had a similar concept but i was wondering where to get a bleed or vent valve for that pressure... i want a valve where i pull it so im as far a way to the venting 12ie as possible... the main thing is where i drill and tap a hole for the bleed valve. im thinking im gonna have to go with a cartridge valve. THIS IS ONLY AN IDEA I WOULD LIKE TO DO, I DONT HAVE TO

1. I've never had a problem unscrewing my 12 gram plunger on any of my KP's because of too much pressure. You seriously can't unscrew it? Maybe lift some weights? HA. Just kidding.

2. The K1's had a vent valve because they had dual 12 gram adapters and the entire lower tube was pressurized. You had to vent or it's blow that changer out....at least mine's that way.

3. Maybe I don't understand....you're thinking of installing a cartridge valve into a KP just to be able to vent it? I know Stuffy and Bret G have done some cartridge valve mods to allow them to have good efficiency, but it seems like a lot of work for only slight benefits.

Just some thoughts.

do you have the short or the long knob? I could never abide the stock short ones but Ive never had a problem with the long ones. they pop up on ebay every so often

the short one, i can only get the tip of 2 fingers on it becouse of the barrel. I would like to do the bleed valve just for something that i can say that i made that, also wouldnt it save the cupseal too becouse sometimes when i de gass my pgp fast the cup seal tends to dry out or freeze fast

2 thoughts on how to do this: attach the hammer to something like a cocking rod from an autococker, and make a cap for it the same diameter as the trigger group(maybe even repurpose a feed tube cap) so that you have more surface area to push on it with, and so when you're low on gas, push it so that the hammer opens the valve and purges all the air out. Second: you could use a small 2-way pneumatic valve(most of them are brass ) and push the valve button to purge. The problem is, the valves in my clippard pneumatics catalog are only rated to 300 PSI, and they might just lock up at hither pressures, or they might explode and injure you. Maybe if you looked around you could find one more suited to the higher pressures. Part number is MAV-2 in case you want a place to start looking.

(caution: barrels are not like women, do NOT insert your p3nis into a barrel)

i was just thinking of a bleed valve into the bottem of the stock. but thinking of it i think its not going to work, since its a shoot to pierce and theres no pressure device except the 12 itself

I saw russc idea of putting a reg in the lower tube, i wanna think of a way to get the 12ies to volumize before the valve....

Maybe I'm just being an old fart....I don't see that the benefits are worth all the work you're gonna need to do and possibly mangle your marker. I've been using KP's for years and never once thought that I was at a disadvantage because my 12 gram was allowing some liquid into the valve. I just think your cost/benefit ratio is way out of wack here.
