PGP 2k issues

Well i just picked up a pgp2k from a fellow member here on the forum. He claimed it was working fine, and he had installed a new main spring on it before he shipped it out. But when i popped a 12 gram in to test fire it, i couldn't close the knob all the way, and the 12 gram never punctured. It dented it in slightly, but won't fully pierce it and fire.

I've taken it apart many times now, and gotten it to dent in slightly more, but that's about it. I've adjusted the RVA in every which way, but still no luck. I put the old main spring back in and still nothing. The closest i got was when I pull the front screw that holds the frame to the gun. The 12 gram pierced just fine, but as too be expected leaked immediately without the screw to contain the air in.

any ideas?

Have you tried backing the Back plug out one-two turns and reattaching the grip frame? If this doesn't fix it maybe the cartridge valve is not properly tightened.

The permanent problem may be a dulled pierce pin assembly, but this is pretty rare at least as far as my experience.

Oh its pretty damn sharp. Putting this thing together again and again is pretty annoying with a bandage on my thumb :P

Sometimes you just have to walk away for a day or week, it magically will work out next time you break it down.

Bollocks alright, so backing the RVA plug itself a couple of turns seemed to work, but then the air leaked out of the front knob {scuse my noob terminology]. Going to take it apart and tighten the cartridge valve, then try my last 12 gram to see if it's going to be a good boy.

You found the piercing problem.

Now the leaking problem...
Try a drop of oil on the tip of the 12g first, before breaking it down. That may help the leak, otherwise your face seal may need to be cleaned/replaced.

Pierced, aired up, and fired with no leaks. Backing out the RVA plug 1 thread seems to have done it. I love you.

My Sheridan family is finally happy and living again.

Also remember that not all 12 grams are equal. I had a problem with a batch of 12's not piercing until I bought some new ones.
