Need some help !

hey guys i'm new to the sheridans and know basicly nothing about them, but after seeing pictures of them i've been intrigued to pick one up, a guy locally is selling a sheridan vm68 for very cheap he said its leaking through the barrel but everything else is intact. I love fixing and rebuilding stuff and think this would be a great little project to work with but being new i'm just wondering if i should attempt this or not bother. Thanks a lot in advance guys!

Well like most things in life, it depends on the price. parts are still out there for them.

What kind of sheridan are you aiming toward? Most of the member on here aim toward the older sheridan that are brass base not the VM68.

This is a VM68

I think you should go find an older sheridan and mess with that instead of the VM, which hold very little value anyway.

$40 is ehhhh give or take market value for one these days in my opinion. Some LOVE VMs, others not so much. Like Pk said, if you're looking to tinker into something older, save $20-30 more and find yourself a cool Sheridan LB (long barrel) or SB (short barrel) to tinker with

The leak is probably from the cup seal.

Just traded a tpx for a KP2.

And I love the feel the looks shoots very good.

Even barrel loaded a few first strike into it shot very good, but didn't like the 12'ies.
