PGP2 feedgate

I am the proud owner/operator of a polished PGP2.

It's not without issues though. The previous owner "ruined" the frame by drilling holes at the bottom of the grip (probably for a bottomline ASA project), the front sight was cracked and eventually fell out (I replaced it with a rubber stopper with high success, no sight though), and the tab holding the plastic feed-gate on was broken so I ground down a pin, JB Welded it to the gate, and slipped it on.

It's worked worked fairly well until last weekend at Living Legends 5 when the JB Weld failed, the pin fell off, and the feed-gate slipped right off the back of the pistol.

I'm looking for a more permanent solution. How does this affix? Palmer's description does not say it will fit the PGP2, but it does obviously fit the PGP. If I mill a slot for the old style twist-lock feed-plug will it attach then?
If I do that am I better off just using the feed-plug and not spending the money on the speed-gate?

Has anyone made their own gate? Perhaps out of a copper pipe or something?
Anyone just have an extra one of the plastic gates they are willing to part with?

I doubt you'll find a replacement feed gate. They break all the time and there aren't any factory replacements available.

I might have a spare feedgate kicking around somewhere.... If I can find it and it works you can have it for the cost of shipping!
Also have a spare trigger frame if you are interested.

I may very well be interested in both.

But if that plastic gate will just break again, what is a more durable alternative?

I just made my own plug out of a piece of delrin and then ended up soldering a penny in the back The feedport is now on the top of the tube with a delrin ramp that gets pulled back (AKA thadapter)

EDIT: BOOO.. I just grabbed my old plastic feed tube thing and the pin on mine is broken off as well Sorry bro.
The grip I have is pristine except it appears to be missing the ball bearing and spring for the safety.. no clue where it went.

I have always wondered why someone has not made a brass or aluminum version of this feed gate. It would not be that complicated. I doesn't have to be a exact copy.

This is different then what you are suggesting snaparen - making a brass or aluminum version of the feedgate. I chose to eliminate it all together and go a different route.

Chav I am looking at buying a PGP2 because I need a cartridge valve for a gun being built for me. I have no use for the feedgate, but I don't know when I'll be getting that.
