Make sure you chrono it before trimming any springs, I always thought my PGP was shooting way hot, but it turned out to only be going like 240. With today's paint it's hard to get a PGP to even achieve a usable velocity with out adding shims.

Yeah, I think the paint I was using may have had a lot to do with it, but will find out tomorrow when I chrono it.

Well I had the opportunity to chrono it yesterday as well as play a few games. It jumped around between 190fps and 230fps and was not, as a result, terribly effective.

How would I go about increasing the velocity on a PGP?

Easiest way is 1 make sure your hammer spring is a fresh one and 2 get an rva so you can easily adjust without shims
