I have become one of you... *PMI I DF*

As you can see, I joined MCB in June, having lurked for a month or two prior. At the beginning of the year, I owned one Tippmann 98C from my old days ten years ago. Now I own 6 six guns, three of them in long-term disassembled and/or non-working status.

Today I crossed a threshold. I purchased a Sheridan that I positively knew didn't work. Gun #6 is a PMI-1DF that I picked up today for $50. Having just disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled her, the hard parts look to be in pretty good shape.

It doesn't hold air, leaks down the barrel & into the grip. So my next step is to pick up a valve tool and "Seal Kit, 12 Gram", from my new best friend Mr. Palmer. Am I on the right track?

(Pics to come. My camera has killed its batteries at the moment.)

Very soon I will just give in and buy an annual membership. Why deny who I am becoming?

I'm too wordy.

Real point of my post: seal kit and valve tool from Palmers--am I looking at the right parts? Are there any other parts I ought to order while I'm at it? I haven't found any major problems other than seals, but I can't get to the valve yet. Does the Palmer's kit have every seal I might need? Odds are that every rubber seal in the thing has probably dry rotted by now.

Once it's working, what would you all recommend in a spare parts kits?

My goal is to get it running in factory stock condition, then play with it a bit and maybe think about upgrades later.

Looking down the 12-gram tube, I can see the crumbly remains of about half of the chamber plug.

Check out the member on here named mad. He has 12g seal kits cheaper than palmers.

You will want an RVA(rear velocity adjuster), valve tool, and 12g seal kit.

The RVA is a must in my opinion to fully enjoy the marker otherwise adjusting velocity can be touchy, I am assuming it is a 12g gun and not CA.

Palmers conveniently supplies all of these, but as stated Mad sells seal kits and titus (Sheridan Parts & Upgrades : Celanis Paintball, Online Store) sells valve tools.

Thanks for the tips, everyone.

FYI I did go with Palmer's. For a couple extra bucks I got it all in one order. Plus I'm fairly certain the bolt o-rings need replaced, which Palmer includes.

I keep an eye on Titus as well as Bacci, and had come across but forgotten about MaD. I will keep them in mind for future needs.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

I re-built the valve (that sounds so much more technical than, "cleaned it, replaced three seals, oiled it") shortly after the last post but couldn't get it to hold air. I feared I had cross-threaded or damaged the body or valve nut (found a fair-sized brass sliver ), and ended up putting it away for another day.

Today I took it apart again, really thinking about air flow and valve function vis-a-vis the symptoms. I managed to get the valve nut completely seated (not sure what I did differently??? whatever, it worked this time ). STILL it was dumping 12 grams.

I realized that air venting out of the nutsert wasn't getting into the valve in the first place! :lightbulb: The 12-gram push rod is really beat to **** and slightly bent, so I unscrewed the tip, shimmed it up with one of the old o-rings twisted into a figure-8, and dropped a tank o-ring on top of the 12-gram for good measure.

Sweet victory! It takes pliers to screw in and remove the 12-gram, and the gun will be completely unplayable until I get a Fassst changer and some Wedgits, but she lives!!!
