that, and just searching "trigger guard" on ebay yields tons of results (just spend some time sifting through).

Also try searching for "muzzle loader trigger guard" or variants. Lots of nice brass cheap ones available.

Hey guys I'll update ya with a pic assembled when I get home. Sockmonkey, those trigger guards are nice, saw an old brass one that would be sweet. But I'm so picky....I want something brass, simple, but like almost steampunk. Like just a hint of steampunk lol...

I'm gonna look for a longer screw as well for the mount, I don't wanna turn the mounting hole any deeper to compromise that area of the stock. I may use this with zip ties and cloth until then :P

I had the same problem with the screw, even after I counter sunk it to fit the original one. Luckily I found a longer one. But it doesn't look that great.

But I think I will be picking up some of that stain tomorrow (maybe a different shade, we'll see) and finish mine as well. I still don't have a trigger guard either at the moment. And I have to make those notches for the safety.

Oh yeah. For sure. I gotta search the threads again.. Someone made a brass mounting screw. I'd like that on mine.

Do you know how long of a screw you need? If it's the same as a kp screw, just longer and out of brass, I could whip one up real quick if you can't find one.

Same here. Hit us up pm with a quote? It's a tad longer than the stock screw, still away from home I'll give you measurements when I can.

Concerning the screw, this is what I'm looking at size-wise, just under 2.5 cm:

But that's because the screw sits a bit far as-is on the k2 repro-stock. I can turn it in a bit and it should work, still debating what I should do. I can do a small re-stain of that area once complete so it won't hurt my feelings :P

Compared to the depth on the kp2 stock, it's nearly below flush.

I'm not too sure I want just a couple of threads being what holds the rifle together, i'd prefer a good bite.

Here's where we're at on assembly so far....

What do you think? I like the dark stain

Gotta run again guys, I can never be at home long after work before I gotta split again...meh..

I'll see what I can whip up. It should only be a few bucks. Is that nickel plated?

Gotta add that the finish is only a tad glossier than I imagined but grips rather well. I'm still I'm love with the color
