Putting a little something together, my own k2

Hey guys just sharing the start of something I've wanted. I'll fill you in as it happens. Here's a sneak peak.

i have had bad luck with the stain and finish in one. always seems to streak or not apply smoothly for a natural stain look. you might have better luck but it is a pain to start over if the finish is not what you expected.

Funny you mention that. I'm happy with the outcome so far. I also have a finish only varnish so I can have that extra matte lustre.

is that one of those reproductions? I have one that I haven't finished yet, and I kinda like that finish.

And did you make sure everything fix properly before applying a finish. Mine was a bit tight. I had to take sand paper and use an old PGP body to open the trough the valve tube sits in. And there were a few other things.

So far everything fits. I took off the safety on the rifle because I was too lazy to try and cut out a spot for the levers. Everything fits, needed minimal adjustments. My only snag is that I'm going to have to make the screw hole a bit deeper or get a longers screw. It won't catch the body of the lower tube. Other than that Everything is prim and nice :)

Oh yeah I'm looking for a nice trigger guard. Any ideas guys?
