A/C barrel on top of freak insert?

Freak Inserts and A/C Barrel?

I'm thinking this would have been a better place to post this.

Directly at the front end of the bolt (at rest/closed position) I am thinking about having the 1" OD upper tube bored for freak inserts. At the end of the insert there will be threads to take an A/C barrel. Obviously this tube will not be all that long, and the lower tube housing the 12g will be cut to match length wise.

First off, I'm wondering if there are necessary to center the barrel or something, I don't care if they're just there to make it so the insert doesn't slide freely out when the barrel is removed. Are the o-rings in factory freaked barrels necessary? I've seen some freak bored homemade barrels without them, and haven't heard of any problems. Should I have the upper bore of this sheridan setup with o-rings like a factory stock freak back? Is it even possible?

Second, what do you think about the feasibility of having a chamber setup to take freak inserts and then on top of that an autococker barrel? I'd use a smooth bore 8-12" ported 0.685 ID PPS barrel on top of a .684 insert. Will there be problems making it so that the insert's transition to the autococker barrel is seamlessly smooth and even?

Thanks for your help! I think that is it, but for some reason I feel like I've forgotten to ask another question or two...

is it not possible to just put a freak-bored AC barrel right after the breech? since the upper tube is 1" OD...

Is this what you are talking about? Just use a Freak or Inception back?

It's more like this example. Let me sketch up and edit in here a little diagram so you'll know what I was trying to describe.

it's embarrassing, but here we go:

If that freak insert in the pic is shorter than normal, there are a few ways to do it:

- Use cut down freak inserts or a different sizer (ty could make you shorter ones)

- Make the breach really short like on BOS's gun and Big Matt's Mad Pistols. Then just use a normal freak back or freak bored barrel.

- Use a longer breach that can take a full freak insert and is cocker threaded at the end

- Bore the breach a couple inches for the insert and have the barrel bored the rest of the way. The problem with this is that it's a custom bored length and therefore only custom bored barrels could be used

This is what I was wanting to do.

Thanks for the help guys! Mainly I just wanted to know if it was possible. Since it seems to be so, yay! idkfa, if that is one where the barrel isn't bored for the insert, then yes that's what I'm looking for. If the little barrel is bored for inserts along with the tube it screws into, no, that's not what I'm looking for.
