Making a K stock with walnut (wood trigger guard included)

Started a full length stock K-style with carved trigger guard.

Wood is claro walnut ( a type of black walnut ).

Away from home for a few weeks (doing some remodel work) so I thought I would carve out a stock in my spare moments.
Just cut out today and started with the rough out.

That is gonna look nice. Do you have any pirate stocks for a KP kicking around you would part with? I have one i would like a pirate stock for but my original stock is too nice to cut up. Thanks.

Looking good WALZ, are you going to thin the trigger guard a little bit?

crazyorigin- Yes I have 3 pirate stocks on hand. Lmk if interested.

Had a chance to do a bit more on this stock.
Putting the file to work on her now and its starting to shape up.
Might try taking the carving knife to her also.

Did some more work on the stock. Had to cut down the height (depth) due to trigger not dropping down far enough.
That was fun... ( cut 5/16's off at rear to 0 at the front).
Trigger sets in nice now.
Sanded it down and added one coat of early american stain.
Just received a hand carving kit for my b-day and going to try carving out some design on her... (sick with the dang flu thing right now).
