New member looking for advice on my KP2

Hi Everyone,
I found this forum while looking for advice on my KP2. Having a new baby at home and zero free time has caused me to start going through all my old boxes. I never forgot about them, but I really haven't decieded what to do with them. I have 2 Sheridan markers and a tank. I know for sure I would like to sell the tank and P68. What I'm having trouble with is deciding what to do with the KP2. I keep going back and forth between finishing the stock, adding a spring feed, and adding PPS feed tube cap, or just selling it. The KP2 was purchased around 2000 from someone in Hawaii, even then it took me a while to find one. I sent it to PPS for some work, don't remember all I had done. I used it for 2 days of great fun, I might have gotten one hit, but the most fun I've had on the field. I think it was the star of the show, got more questions then my autococker, or my buddies angle. I then finished school and never played again. I guess what I would like to know is what you guys think the value of my gear is, and what would you do with the KP2? Its a shame to have the marker sit in a box for another 10 years, and I don't want to do anything that would take away from its value. I'm sure some people already hate me for coating the brass, but when your at a Maritime school the last thing you want to look at is more unpolished brass.

First P68

damage to the feed tube, if I remember right it would trap a few balls.

I a few small upgrades, again not sure what

This is the air tank from my autococker, not sure if its even worth Hydro. Sorry, I know its not Sheridan but I would have to make a whole thread about it.

And last but not least my PPS KP2

The KP2 is a keeper in my eyes. I wanna tell you to hold onto it because they are special pieces. I have a KP that's still in the process, stock needs work and some rust removal. But it's yours, and your choice in the end

I'm afraid of pricing your Kp because I might try and buy it. With the current work and condition I wanna say it's gonna depend on how much you wanna squeeze out of it, but that's just me as I hold these in high regard. Most of the time modifications should devalue the marker, But what you had done is acceptable work to keep the performance of the marker in top shape.

So I'm just gonna talk out the side here and say keep it and get the stuff you want done on it. Make it your perfect rifle. PPS kp's are valuable as well and certain mods could in fact raise it's worth and longevity.

Oh yeah, welcome to the MCB family

Edit: I'm just gonna let someone else price that...

80+ FOR THE P68.(tap an empty 12g. through the feed tube to remove most of the dent)

450+ for the KP2(looks like you had a P-Tune done to it..I see a PPS bolt, the back of barrel and ft. of the valve tube trimmed, stainless pump rod and new handle, nickle plate and porting.that's well over $175 worth of PPS work.
I'd say if you want and know how to,then go ahead refinish the stock.
if you slot the feed tube the nickle could start flaking.

what to do with them??? the choice is yours.

keep an eye on this also to estimate value

I just talked with PPS, they said the installing a spring might damage the Nickle. So the spring job would be a little much. Does adding a spring feed make it less of a stock class marker? I think I will send it to PPS after the holidays for a ball dent, widget, and a leashed larger feed cap. My boss is a great wood worker so the stock will get refinished. I will try and make it out to a field this year, if I can't, then I'll put the KP2 up for sale. The P68 will go up for sale next week when I'm home from the holidays. Is the HP tank worth Hydroing? Man its interesting to see so many changes, and new markers out there.

Some consider the spring to be outside the bounds of pure stock class play, as modified stock class. I wouldn't worry about that too much, but check the rules of your local sc group if that's an issue (I've seen some go both ways on the spring feed, although most see to considered it modified stock class and therefore not acceptable for a stock class game).

Whether or not your kp2 is considered 'pure' or modified stock class after the spring feed, I would say just go ahead and get what you feel you want on it (in my opinion it would still be as OG of a SC marker as before). Since you will probably be playing rec ball for a majority of your future games, might as well have a flawless marker to play with! Good lookin' marker btw.

That KP2 is tasty. Hold onto her; you will regret selling it. Under most definitions a spring feed is not stock class, but do what you want.
