| Newbie Join Date: Jan 2012 | Help with a PMI-II Piranha LB
Hey guys, I just picked up a Piranha Long Barrel on trade. I am very familiar with PGPs and own 7 of them, but this is a little different from the PGP as far as the bolt system goes. Basically, how do I get the damn bolt out of this thing? lol On a PGP, you remove the grip frame and hammer and then take out the cocking lug that hangs down from the bolt. On the LB, the lug has no allen key hole or flathead screwdriver slot, and if I turn it with needle-nose pliers, it just seems to turn and turn with no effect. I definitely don't want to break my cocking arm so I thought I'd ask you guys first. So my number one question is how do I get the bolt out? My other question is about the spring loaded, knurled piece on the end of the bolt. What is that? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance. The cocking pin is spring loaded, just push it in. The knob on the end of the bolt is just the pump arm retainer. You pull it back to release the catch on the pump arm, so you can pull it out of the back of the bolt. Welcome to MCB!

Ok thanks. The spring-loaded cocking lug part really helped. Now I have most of the bolt sticking out the back of the gun. I still cannot seem to get the pump arm and spring loaded knob off the bolt. Maybe something is seized up, or maybe I am just a fool. Can you give me a little walkthrough on getting the bolt detached from the pump arm? Thanks so much for your speedy response |

I know you said nevermind.....but just for the record (in case anyone else is reading this)....you don't need to take the spring loaded knob off the bolt. If you pull that knob back the arm should slide out. Also, if you take the pump arm off first, you can rotate the bolt 45 degrees while still fully in the tube and depress the spring loaded pin in the bolt and slide the bolt the whole way back. |

and you should not need to remove the grip frame and hammer from a pgp to remove the bolt lug/bolt,just take the pump rod out of the bolt and rotate it to unscrew the lug.
