So is there any sort of slide on sight rail that one can find for a stacked tube PG?

Like those slide on Automag sight rails for AGD's original steel bodies or, to add a fancy Pro-Team sort of rail mounted sight, I'd have to get a rail custom installed/welded on?

And in any case, are there any other sights that can be added to a stacked tube PG without permanent modification?

My PMI I-DF came with a plastic sight rail that slips over the barrel/bolt tube behind the direct feed port. I see no reason it wouldn't work on a PG or PGP, but it's probably usuitable for mounting any other accessory. I believe it was meant to work as a rear sight for the PMI's front bead.

If I can remember, I'll post up some pictures this evening. It says "P.M.I." in big letters on the side. They can't be that uncommon, but I've never seen another like it, though I've tried searching the Internet.

Please pardon the cell-phone pic. I took this at the shop for research purposes when I knew squat about Sheridans and was trying to decide whether to buy or not. The shiny white rectangle is a price tag.

The set screws are on the other side, and yes they resulted in some very minor dings in the finish.

Huh, I've seen something looking like that on pmi 1s and 2s but in those cases it was part of an open class feed system. this on the other hand is exactly the kinda thing I'm interested in... now to find one for sale

This is the rear sight that is installed on every P68 magnum. I have one, it's a dovetail sight mount.

Interestingly enough, I haven't seen any other P68 magnums on this site...

It is very similar, but not the same piece. This one sits behind the feed port, and it is made of what seems like fairly cheap plastic.

Right, I've seen those around in person actually, and it's not what I've been looking for. Turned me on to the idea initially, until I realized it's not quite the sort of sight rail functionally speaking I'd need for my armson red dot.

You can get one off a P68 magnum and cut it down, cut just behind the feed port. This will give you the dove tail to mount the red dot.
There are plenty of them out there with a broken feed neck that can be had for around $10. They are aluminum and can be cut with a cutoff wheel or a hack saw.
