Lighter colored one for me.

I like the hump backs. I accidentally put a hump in the pine 2x4 I was playing with the other day. It is a comfortable grip. I'm tinkering with more of a 'scally-wag' marker. I hope it will deserve a WALZ stock some day.

I was wondering the same thing. Look at the striped one here- the dark wood's grain is different that the light. Looks like he's piecing them together.

Staining a piece of wood and creating such a sharp defined line like that is probably not possible with how porous wood is. It is definetly different pieces of wood laminated together, like you see in heavy bench tops and cutting boards.
