Unfortunately serial numbers on Sheridan's aren't a sure fire way to tell their age.

Here's a good start on id

Ask questions, post pictures, you're in the right place to know what you ahve and to get it up and running again.

Is it a bolt action? If so, most likely, a K2.

Is it a pump action? Then a KP2 or KP3.

If it is a pump, then does it have a tube on the side that holds paintballs, or a feedneck? Does it take just 12 grams for an air source, or does it have a hose for connecting to an air tank, and maybe a bracket to hold that air tank?

See how complicated that can be without pictures? With pictures, we could probably tell you exactly what model it is and other info.

serial numbers on k-series markers are usually on the left side (opposite the ammo tube/feedneck), early rifles also have 'pursuit marketing, inc' stamped there as well. as long beard said, numbers can vary, but a good indicator is the first digit. k1's i've had started with an 'a', k2's and later started with a 'b'... otherwise there's lots of indicators, as no mercy ever said, post up and we'll do what we can to help
