The fasst change is great for quick 12 gram changes. It's more about quicker operation than looks. In the picture you will also see a speedfeed for reloading.

Yeah, I get the operation, and its a definite bonus. But Im also a pretty looks minded individual. WO I'm gonna see about a longer barrel and maybe feed tube. But that's all in the future. Right now I just wanna get it polished up and tuned.

Cutting torch or brazing? The solder melts at a pretty low temperature so you don't need that much heat. Propane will work ok for removal. If you're good with a brazing torch you can probably do really clean work but be gentle as that top tube is thin as heck as well.

2. Do I really need the bearing? I'm sure it serves a purpose, but it seems to hinder the pump stroke.

For the bolt? No, you don't need the bearings. Usually Long Beard clips the springs to make them buttery smooth.

3. Can I remove the front of the feed tube?

Yes, its held in by the front sight. (Well, it is for the PMI-1, Might be different for the PGP)

4. What is a quick strip?

Its a slot cut out in the side of the bolt tube so that you don't have to remove the cocking lug every time to take out the bolt. Instead you just twist the bolt and back it out with the lug attached.

It is, yes. I just need to figure out how to remove the busted sight post. The torch is multi use from what I gather. And I'll bear that in mind about the slot when my valve tool gets here. Thanks!

Wait, remove the cocking lug? When I took the bolt out, I just depressed the little post and slid it out. Did I do something wrong?

Newer bolts like your have a speed pin type lug (plunger type) to remove them from marker.
Older models have a threaded screw in type lug.
A quick strip notch allows you to just twist bolt pin up and slide bolt straight out.
Its a bit quicker than trying to press the pin to remove (especially on the field).

OK thanks, just wanted to make sure I was using it property. And this slot can be made with a dremel and a few files, yes?

Yep - Its a easy mod..
Just draw a line from the top of the lug notch straight to the end and use a cut-off wheel on your dremmel. Touch up with fine file. Also you will need to cut it at the base of the barrel at end to remove offending brass. Good luck - and take your time if this is your first time...... its easier to do it right the first time..
