WALZ's Black Betty - A KP freaked pirate build (For "G") Completed...
First picture is what this kp looked like before I started on her.
A big square hole for fsr's was like a cut in the heart for her so
it was decided that a new freaked barrel system was in order with a
horizontal springfeed stuffed in a pirate stock was going to make
this ole gal into a sweet looker once again.
Going to have everything a gal could want...
Started out by enlarging transfer ports to .278 i.d.
Next the freak body and then the barrel.
Barrel length is now 14 1/2" in length.. (might shorten it a bit)
More to come...
And stay tuned for even more freaky sheridans..
I have three more of these I am working on and will post up when there is more than this to show....
If I wasn't so far on my KP build I would have you make me a Freak barrel. That is one of the coolest Sheridan mods I have ever seen, I like how you do it opposed to some others I have seen where the stock barrel is just bored out, extremely thin and weak.
Superlative superlative superlative, etc etc etc. :D
Walz is my hero. I used to pray to Chuck Norris on the eve of battle, but now I pray to him.
its ok, Chuck understands
Did the hot work to the two lower tubes and then added a full length
horizontal feed (will be spring fed) for the flat top look.
At first I thought I had soldered her up wrong but I then realized
it just looks a bit off the norm due to the freak system....
Here are pics of tubes soldered - barrel off and barrel on..
Starting to take shape now...
Walz - loving everything you do.
Counting the days til my project body arrives so I can get in touch with you :)
Nice. Another subscription to my pile of WALZ threads I'm watching.
Cut the springfeed notch, made a spring, plunger and ball dirverter.
I moved the ball feeder to the front of barrel feed and added a interior brass sleeve to cover feed hole.
Just rotate down to reload and up to fire... (1/2 way locks both out)
I did some spiral porting to the barrel tip also. (should be very quiet).
Going to work on the sight system nest...
Pics so far...
If you had a mill and a lathe I couldn't imagine what you could come up with. Even with simple hand tools you make cooler Sheridan's than some shops with high end machinery. Truly old school cool, just goes to show there are still some true craftsman out there. Your work is inspiring.
How are you going to connect the front ofctue barrel on this one? It has changed each time so far.
We should take up a collection to buy said tools...
