PGP2 wont cock with 12 gram inside

First of all i just need to share how lucky I've been. I have 5 Sheridans, and I only bought one. 3 PGP2s, (one I bought for $60), and 2 P68-ATs that were given to me by a friend (who never plays) after being given to him by his friend (who never ever plays).

So here's the deal, I am restoring on of the PGP2s so that I may make my own pirate conversion for it. Weird thing is that I can't get it to cock when I put a 12 gram in it. (It does that weird half cock safety feature thing???) My guess is the 12ie is pushing the valve or hammer out of place some how. If I take the tank out and try and cock it a few times, it will start engaging and dry firing as it should.
Another, possibly related, issue is that it wont puncture the lid of the 12 grams. I have 2 identical gun that have no problem doing this.
Any Ideas??

Is the grip frame loose? It sounds to me like the sear isn't properly engaging and the valve my be shifting.

Do you have a shoot to pierce or instapierce? Like above, did you pull it apart? Either something is loose or you may be missing some pieces.

Is it only when the 12ie is inserted? Because on PGP2's if the RVA is screwed too far in it will not cock.

1) Yes I pulled it apart. I was trying to get the valve to open but to no avail.
2) Grip frame not loose
3) It does not open 12 grams at all
4) When a 12 gram is inserted it will not cock. It i take the 12ie out and pump like 20 times it will start to cock again. When I put the 12ie back in, it stops again.

So you pulled the valve out too? Or is that still in there?

What do you mean by this, do you have to pump it a bunch of times before it starts cocking again or will it immediately function as normal when the 12ie is removed?

Does the tip of the sear or face of the hammer look worn at all?

1) Yes I have taken the valve out. I don't have a Sheridan tool (yet!) That may be an issue that I can remove the valve without it.
2) I have to pump it a bunch of times before it will start cocking again. It's like I have to shake it back into place.

You don't need the tool with a cartridge valve, which the PGP2 has. Check out this diagram here:

http://paintballgunmanuals.com/manua...P2-Diagram.pdf

See if you have all the pieces there. Sniper42 may be on to something to as to why it isn't cocking. If you have the shoot to pierce, it won't pierce the 12g until you can cock it and fire, which you aren't able to do now.

What kind of 12g are you using?
