First thing you should do is install a cartridge and pop the seal, submerge the whole marker in the sink or tub with the front cap off.
You will be able to see exactly where leak is coming from.

If original paint is still on marker you can be assured there was never enough heat applied to valve area to melt the solder around valve.

If I was a betting man I would say its the 0 ring between the tube and the fitting....

Not 100% sure but the 0 rings look like they may be size 4.5x2 if that is any help.

Why does my Piranha LB leak down the lower tube :(

The piranhas SB and LB are back bottle. There's no seals in the front to leak it's all brass. submerging it under water is a good idea though

Ok I have seen this before..

The solder holding the valve retainer in place has failed... I have only seen it happen one other time in all my years..

The only way I was able to fix it was to strip it down and apply heat to the valve area untill the solder went molten and then add little bit more solder to the assembly hole on the bottom and hope for the best..

If that doesn't work it will need a lower valve retainer replacement and thats not a job for a rookie..

Thanks everyone for the help.

No paint left on this marker, I believe at one point it was a rental and hit the ground hard with a player leaning on the tank. The original frame was badly bent, and the back of the lower tube was wallowed out.

I've cleaned it up a bit and replaced the frame, coaxed the back of the tube back together a bit, and did the seals. The bolt is very worn, no paint left anywhere on any of the steel parts.

Any udpates?
On a similar note is the valve assembly that's soldered in place one whole piece?
Meaning if I heat up the whole thing can I remove, modify and re-install the whole thing?

It is a sleeve that is soldered in the lower tube. Yes it can be removed as one piece, but might be difficult to put back in, would have to be sure to remove all old solder.

I actually sold this for parts/not working on eBay, I was getting frustrated by it and switched over to stock class stuff. I was selling it here too but it got almost zero interest.

Thanks for the offer though Walz, that is awesome
