How to make a trigger..

OK first.. when you get a little free time on the CNC mill.. make a few blanks like these

Then bend a little tail on them

Then give them a little twist and a tweak..

Pretty close to the original eh?

And the final result.... these will be used on some future builds

Looks pretty much like the same trigger to me. Nicely done. What kind of build needs so many triggers? Will it be some kind of SteamPunk rifle? ;)

A run of MADrifles that started 5 years ago :old: and is on its way to being completed after Matt had stretch of life slapping him around.

Only a couple of these will be used on this run of rifles, I have original triggers for most of them.... :)

This run will however dry up my supply...

That is cool, never seen a trigger made before!

Pretty cool. What material did you use? What is the purpose of the extra holes?

Not exactly sure what the steel is but it is 2.4mm thick mildly heat treatable scrap sheetmetal from my real job...

The extra holes are 3mm thru holes that are used to bolt the metal to my fixture while I zip them out on the CNC mill..

Why not brass?

weekendballer 01-02-2014 11:59 PM

i would think brass as a trigger would be to soft it would flex and bend with use.

Plus having brass as the sear surface, it would wear excessively and eventually it would round over.
