As for the stock...Hmmm. I may give it a refinishing, but repaint the red 1/8 as it appears now, as tribute to it's military service heritage.

If I had it I would just clean it up replce all the missing parts and leave it just the way it is. If it was a run of the mill KP in that condition I would say restore it. But it is more than that it has a history that is told by the way it looks. Kinda like antique furniture. (not worth as much restored) I think it is worth more the way it is now. I would think the millitary paintball types would freak out over that thing. Any way it is very COOL

Definately dont do anything hideous and terrible like polish the tubes or refinish the stock and make it look boring.

Julian dates are just the official way to do things, and it fits into the numeric system as far a documents go. Not really a Navy thing but a DOD thing, much like 24 hour time and the phonic alphabet.
