Kp2 problem

I just got my Kp2 back from palmers. I had the tune up, and some other stuff done to it. It has a forteen inch barrel. I am only getting about 10 good shots on a 12gram though. Any thoughts on this. I was told to expect about 40 shots with a 12 inch barrel, and maybe 30 with the 14 inch one?

try a bigger paint. I notice a drop in efficiency on mine when the paint is too small to make a good seal. also, check the velocity, if it is too high you are wasting co2 there. Also posting pics of a newly palmerized marker has been shown to increase efficiency by 5-10%

Here are a few thoughts...

1. What temperature is it? If it is cold, you will get a lot fewer shots.

2. What brand 12 grams are you using? If they are generic/cheap Crossman/Brass Eagle ones you might have some bad ones...the quality on the cheaper CO2 powerlets has been very poor recently, which can and does possibly include being underfilled at the factory.

What wedgits do is help stop rollouts.... Most of the time.. Having now owned/tried many sheridans they don't like much of the newer paints...

12 gram quailty is a good point.... best to try more types of paint and find something the makes it happy...

PIC's !!!!!

They are the cheaper ones. What is a good brand? Doews anyone use the 16 gram ones? I have seen thyem and they look to be the same diameter, but longer.

As stated, wedgits prevent roll outs. They do nothing for efficiency as the extra gas is still escaping around the ball. Find bigger paint (as mentioned).

Oil it. Break it in.

Alright I called Palmers and they said pretty much the same thing you all did. He did say use better 12 grams, and to screw them in with tthe barrel pointing down. I have to wait till the weather warms to get a good idea of whats going on. I have to say thought that I am pretty bummed out with the whole experience. Maybe my expectations were to high. I would have thought they would test fire the marker before sending it back to me. I also thought I would be getting one of the best pump guns available. So far my stock pgp shoots better. Hopefully I will have better luck when it warms up.

PGP always had more shots per 12 gram over a KP. I am referring to back in the day circa 1987. Like twice as many shots.
