Whats the best way to make the pump stroke less 'clinky'?

You mean reduce the noise, or make it smoother? If the bolt has bb's, you can remove them, that helps quite a bit.

If you don't like clinkiness, a Nelson is what you want.

Return spring? Where do you plan on installing one of those? Only would happen if you chopped off the front of the lower tube and installed a pump guide rod with a return spring... kind of like what Big Matt did for some here a couple years ago.

There isn't much else you can do with springing for a sheridan, unless you play with hammer weight and the valve. But if you look at Palmer guns they have longer stiffer throws as they are built off kp length guts.

What does palmers do on their pumps to make the pump stroke smooth? Does it have to do with the KP length guts?
