Mock up, first strike capable KP

Well, here she is, still needs some cleaning up.

But, I'm excited it's a big step.
Has a ball detent, and opening breech for single loaded first strikes.

Hopefully the video works.

That looks awesome, very clean way to cover the breech.

Well, it's been a long run project, started in February roughly.

But. That was the biggest mechanism issue, also modding a speed demon bolt to fit right, new pump arm, stock with compartment for FS rounds.
It's been a big project. Hoping to actually see a field sometime this summer. Still needs the cleaning up, and engraving on her.

That looks too nice to be used, and I mean that in a good way. looks like a piece of art, hope its not as fragile as a piece of art though.

Can we assume this is not the actual gun it is being attached to? I see a side feed in the video and it looks like the locking arm rolls back towards the front of the gun (I assume that's a 12 gram drop slot in front of the breach).

If this is the actual gun is the side feed being kept as a place to keep rounds (perhaps a spring feed which leads to a feed gate of sorts to allow you to pull 1 round out at a time?)

If this is the final body, why did you choose to have the lever rotate forward rather than back (like a flint lock hammer) and have you thought of having a spring in the lock to allow less manual manipulation (slide lock back and hold, with loading hand retrieve round flip open breach, load round and close breach, release lock and it snaps closed and ready to fire?)

Either way looks great and I look forward to seeing the final product.

It is the actual gun it's being put on to. It's a mix of art and use. The latch piece itself is three layers of brass laminated together and pressure cured.

Yup, it goes forward, not sure why, but I liked the idea and style of it. (Yep, drop out 12)

The feed is being kept for standard rounds, having it be able to fit first strike was the goal, not necessarily the primary function. [emoji14]

I was playing around with the idea of a spring but... I like latches and gizmos. I also was trying to keep everything very simple for this mechanism, yet still durable/air tight (I still need to make the silicon gasket).

This marker also has a small trap door in the stock (pirate) that is capable of holding 2 first strikes. I'll load a pic right after this message.

PS. Thank you for the kind words! I've never done anything this in depth.
