| Canuck | A few PGP valve questions. I have a few questions about the pgp valve assembly. I got a Valve Guide Gasket, Lead Does that go where #1 points too on the picture? I also got a hammer spring but it looks way too long. Can I just cut it? How do you change the Chamber Plug Face Seal and where do orings go in the following pic? I got a Seal Kit, 12 gram I need to know where the Valve Guide O ring and Chamber Plug O ring go.

If the spring constant is the same then yes you could cut it. You might want to start a bit long & work your way down though - once you cut it it's hard to add length back! ;-) As for the seals: 1- chamber face seal - it's in a little cup on the front of this piece - you need a o-ring pick to get it out & will probably destroy the old one doing so. The new one snaps in. For the one I changed the new one was slightly thicker on one side, I put that side towards the back of the marker as the cup it's in seems to be shaped that way - don't know if it matters. Old one is probably orange-ish, the new one I got from Palmer's was black. 2- Not 100% sure there is an o-ring here - I actually think there might not be (see next diagram) and that the o-ring you see towards the front of this piece seals pressure in. 3- O-ring here definitely. The original seal seems to have been some sort of square cross section thing. The one that came in the seal kit from Palmer's was definitely a regular o-ring and fit quite loosely, it was hard to get it to stay in place w/o it falling off when putting the valve back in. 4- This is where the lead seal goes. FWIW the Palmer's tuned PGP I have doesn't have the lead seal & doesn't seem to have any issues so if yours is damaged or distorted you can probably chuck it (that said the Palmer's tuned valve has an additional nut in the bottom to hold it in place...). ![]() This walk through on disassembly & re-assembly PGPOG - The PGP Owners Group - Non-Cartridge Valve Sheridan Disassembly might be useful too. Pay attention to the part about being careful not to cross thread the valve nut when putting it back in as it does seem like it would be easy to do.

| Canuck | Thanks fellow Canuck! Now I just need to find out if this Spring, Hammer is supposed to be this long or if I have to cut it. If I do have to cut it anyone done it before? how long did you cut it?

| MCB Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: NC | the seal kit comes with 5 o-rings(3 fat ones all the same size, are for the bolt), one small o-ring that goes on the chamber plug(it goes in the groove that is in the middle of #1 and #2 in Surestick's pic), and the big skinny o-ring goes at the #3 location. the flat seal will go in the #1 location. don't worry about the lead gasket, throw it away, you don't need it and it kinda makes it a pain in the *** to put the valve back in when you do use it. |

| Canuck | Thanks buds! odd... my seal kit only had 3 bolt o-rings, 1 small o-ring that goes on the chamber plug and 1 chamber face seal. Oh well I think my location #3 o-ring is still in good shape.
