VM68 EC/Reg question

I just bought a very stock vm and I'm starting the upgrade process. So far all I have done is put in a delrin bolt and a bottom line kit with an old expansion chamber. My main question is: Would a regulator placed in between the ec and the front asa be a problem?

Also, where can I find a lighter hammer (lower bolt) and not the Cooper-T Maximizer?

For most of your parts and tip on doing modifications, VM Empire is really good.
Also, Pro-Team Products has quite a bit of VM parts on hand.

I don't know how the gun would react to a regulator being put on it. I had to put an x-chamber on my old Poison, but didn't have one. I had a reg laying around and put it on. The problem was that it didn't allow enough air through to recock the gun. It seems that these older guns need more pressure to operate.

The guys at VM Empire could tell you more, since they know more about VM's than I do.
I don't as yet have one, but I've done some recreational research.

Hope this helps!

Why not the maximizer kit? Lightest hammer I've seen (except for pro-comp of course)

Ron_asp is selling a phazze ii hammer + pro shot kit on ebay. Expensive, but a worthy upgrade.

VM-68 Paintball Gun PROSHOT Phaze 2 Bolt Kit VM68 VM 68 - eBay (item 160192617777 end time Mar-21-08 11:45:59 PDT)

If you're using a regulator, I don't see the purpose of keeping the expansion chamber (except for the "cool" factor). I've heard of people rigging palmer's inline reg along side the EC. Looked clunky to me, but it worked apparently.

The Cooper-T seems to be a real pain to install. from what I understand and what I have read, there seems to be some drilling and a lot of tweeking afterwards. I would love to find a Pro Comp, but they seem hard to find.

Thanks, I'll drop a line to the guys at VM Empire. See what they say.

Cool factor is not what I want when it adds more weight to such a heavy stick.
