p68sc questions

Hi i recently aquired a brand new p68sc and shot it in my backyard today...I have a few questions from what i have observed.

I noticed that it seemed to be shooting very hot and am not sure how to change the velocity if someone could link me to a guide i would be very greatful...another thing is that I only got about what seemed to be 10-12 useable shots out of a 12gram...it was 20 degrees out today (gotta love IL ) but i came straight from the house so the catridge was fairly warm...i read that there are different valves and figured that might have something to do with the efficiency...im not sure which number to look at but the one on the left side says 394701245 and the one of the right side says 53403 if someboday could tell me which one is the serial number and which valve i have that would probably help with the efficiency question...

As far as upgrades i wondered if there is a cap for the 12 grams that threaded faster or maybe had fewer threads...and ive seen stocks for them but cant find any for sale....other then that i dont really want to spend money on it but if anyone has any suggestions that would be cool...or maybe just tell me what palmers can do for me if you have sent your p68 in to them...

sorry for so many questions but i cant seem to find the answers anywhere and figured there wasnt a better place to ask ...any help would be greatly appreciated.

if the numbers on the left side are on the middle tube, you most likely have a 'cartridge valve' type marker, which means the internals can be removed and serviced without special tools...best upgrades would be a palmer's fasstchanger and rear velocity adjuster, maybe a palmer's valve job if you feel the need. the options for a stock are many, most often i see either a slightly modified crosman 1399 stock (plastic) or an aluminum wire-frame stock, both types turn up here in the sales threads fairly often...

thanks alot man

any suggestions as far as maintenance goes? ive never had a sheridan style marker before so im not sure how to go about taking care of it...although it seems pretty rugged.

they really don't need any maintenance. keep it clean and your good. a little oil on the bolt won't hurt. that's about it.

Mine were always weak. Even after a spring swap. Yours may have been stroked a bit.
