PGP Wip Update 10/04/08

Here is my WIP PGP.

Before:

Current:

Atm I am having trouble with the pump handle, I need to shave a mm or two on both sides so it fits over the K-frame.

I am thinking of anno'ing the front & rear cap of the top tube + quick change and pump handle in a copper colour, what do you guys think?

:update:

Some 400 grit wet sanding. Need to sand some more with the 400 grit then some 600 grit then polish

:update:

Was able to get a good pic.

I second that.
Also a cool PPS style set of iron sights would look cool with it.

Could switch to a plastic one, might be easier to sand or dremel the groove wider for the frame.

CAN you anno it? What kinda metal is it? I forget. If it's pot metal like the stock PGP frame, that's a no no.

Make a longer pump rod.

No no the frame is brass just like the body.

I mean anno the aluminum parts like pump handle front and end cap for the top tub and quick change.

As for the longer pump rod it just wouldn't work the pump handle would be too far forward.

You could always try to pneu-assist it, then you'll have like a 1/16" pump stroke.

I believe he was referring to the pump arm being made of the same pot metal the stock Sheridan frame is, which won't hold anno because it's a ghetto-alloy. I'm pretty sure the pump are is just aluminum though, so you could anno or powdercoat if you like. The pump rod is steel and can't be anodized. You could try buying some brass threaded rod off McMaster-Carr, but I'm pretty sure you'd need to go up a couple diameters to keep it from bending when you pumped.
