Is the action fastener screw supposed to look like that?

nope. that thing is fudged up.

that may have spinned around and messed up the first threads in the valve core. possibly ruined the valve nut threads too. no worries though, that piece is easily available and the valve nut is too.

Matt, what size tap do you use?
The tap size is 21/32-32tpi

The reason I offer this up as as free service is that when I bought the tap it was special order and cost me $125.00..the average person does not want to spend that kind of cash to get an old chunk of brass up and running again..I figure by doing this at least I keep another gun from the scrap pile..

John's shipping at jgairguns is typically pretty high if you are just buying a part or two. I have a few extra of the action fastener screws.

I remember that one missing the part of the head, but I don't remember it being chewed up at all. PM me if you are interested in the screw.

Was the gun not working when you got it?? Or, were you just taking it apart to see how it works?

I got a Spyder TL once delivered to work. (I didn't want my wife to know I bought "another" gun.) I immediately took it apart to see how it works, but couldn't put it back together...I was a little concerned. Later I figured out what I needed, but it took a little while.

I started waiting until I had an exploded view before tearing guns aparts.

lol no I never tested it, it's way too cold for 12 grams here.

I just like to take things apart figure out how they work and mainly just clean them up
(plus I am getting Dan Sergison to do some work on it so I need to take it completely apart)
but I took my pgp apart no problem, mind you I never tried to put the valve retaining nut back in.

No matter how many times I do it I always forget about the spring loaded ball bearings in the bolt THANK GAWD I wear glasses........
