I've used it backwards for several games with no real bad affects... Also the valve tool I have won't work with it facing the other direction...atleast not with a hammer and some grinding of the valve tool... Does anyone know exactly what will happen if it's put in the other direction? Also it's not being overly tightened down on the valve the screw is holding it in correctly etc. I have them reversed on both my pug and my NHT...So I'd like to know what are the consequences before I open up both my guns...or if their are any positives ![]() Skiddish

sounds like you might need a different valve tool or your valve nuts are messed up. they should fit your tool in the correct direction.

It was the same with my NHT... I'm really curious as to what will happen because it fits in there both ways and it has more threads on it so that it has a stronger grip...could the tool be bad? I had the same problem with my pgp with the rounded part facing forward...so that goes for all my sheridans then....... I'm really curious as to what will happen now....

it sounds like your tool's dimensions may be a bit bigger than normal. i've had nuts where i've had to tap the tool a tad to get it seated but have never had it not fit. check your tool to see if there is a bur or something that could cause it to be hard to fit. Quote:

Nope, no burrs and the threads aren't deformed at all

awe man I don't want to take apart both of em though...I think I'd have to get a grinder out and grind down part of the tool also...

if the guns are working with no problems i don't see a reason to take them apart again. however, the next time you pull a valve, i'd recommend installing the nut in the proper direction.

Probably the reason won't go in the right direction it should is because the hammer has already caused damege to the nut. Just take a small square file and even them out. Leave the tool alone. PPS made it.
