Precursor to seals giving out?

So, I was just outside plinking with my PMI-1 a few days ago, and after I screwed the plunger down and opened the 12-gram I took about three shots and I noticed a audible, fluttering hiss from the valve, it went away after I screwed it down a bit harder. I figured it was just not down right enough.

Though it happened again today, this time I had to screw it in a little bit further than the last to get it to stop and I noticed some off fractionation's in the FPS and a good deal worse efficiency.

Any idea what the problem is? I checked the 12 grams for all the problems, neither were above normal or under normal length or anything like that.

sounds like the chamber plug face seal is the problem.

has the valve ever been removed before? if it hasn't, that means the original seals from the factory are in there and that chamber plug face seal needs replacing.

How would I tell if it has been removed? I know there are some signs but I dont remember them.

If the lead seal is still there, the valve has not ever been removed.
