| KP2 Assembly (hammer won't fit in) I just received a KP in the mail, and for some reason it was completely disassembled before it was shipped. Valve was left in, but everything else was removed. I got the pringle screw in (man that's a challenge), attached the washer and the lug. Couple of issues: 1. The lug is too short to attach to the stock. They lug and the screw don't even touch. The pringle screw is flush or oriented properly, and I'm using the washer. I'm guessing I just have to buy a longer mounting screw. Anyone know the threads? My only other thought is to put another washer in, but that will probably only give me a max of 1/8" threaded which doesn't seem like nearly enough. 2. The hammer won't fit in. It has what looks to be a pressed fitting that sticks out slightly from the hammer OD. It won't fit inside the lower tube. The fitting would stick up towards the bolt. The hammers also not radially symetric (bottom is flat, top is round with this fitting), I thought all KP hammers were? (see attached picture) 3. The lug that sticks down from the bolt looks like it's broken off still in the bolt. I also have what looks to be a broken lug as well (see attached pictures). Thanks guys, I might just be out to lunch, but I cannot figure this out. Hammer: ![]() Bolt: ![]() Lug: ![]()

| So basically this hammer could never have actually been in the gun? Nice. Edit: Will a stock BS hammer work? or will I run into issues. Drilling out the lug on the bolt is probably the only option?

| correct. that hammer was never in that gun. that's a p-series hammer. the BS hammer should work fine. the bolt lug might come out without drilling. you might be able to turn it with a steel dental type pick. |

| Lug just spins in place, I think it's just the end that's broken off, not enough threads to get it out. I'll break out the drill press this weekend and try to get out the nub. What confuses me is the broken lug piece doesn't even seem like it's the right one. The threading on it is the same as the threaded pump arm, which isn't the same as the hammer lug. Any thoughts on where to get a new lug from? I'm thinking if I can match the threads I can cut a regular bolt down. Thanks C6, do you ever get tired of knowing everything?

| lol... i'm far away from knowing everything. we're all in this game to learn and i'm happy to share any knowledge i have to help someone out. it works both ways. the pump arm thread is a 10-32. i think the cocking lug is a 8-32 but don't quote me on that, i need to check myself. that cocking lug looks to be a factory lug and not just something someone stuck in there. the early cocking lugs used an allen wrech and then they changed them to the slotted lugs. yours looks like an older style lug. i've really only seen the older style lugs in K2 and PG models. i your lug is just spinning, it might have a stripped hole so you may have to tap the hole for the next size up. |
