PGP: A very cheap alternative to PPS's $35 speed loader...

What you will need:

- 1 x #8-32 x 1" Machine Screw
- 8 x Flat Washers (SAE #8 / M4.2)

1.) Remove the CO2 plug.
2.) Look into the CO2 plug. You should see a machine screw. Unscrew.
3.) BE CAREFUL AT THIS POINT. There is a tiny, and I mean TINY, ball bearing inside the CO2 plug that will fall out and you will lose if you tip the plug over unawares. Have a hand ready and roll out the ball bearing.
4.) Replace the existing screw with the 1" machine screw and add washers until you have 8 total. Tighten. Yes, the screw won't go in all the way, but it works.

This will reduce your bajillion turns of the plug to about 3 turns... a much quicker solution (AND cheaper). You could add another washer or replace the ball bearing to make it even shorter; personally, I'm just afraid of losing the darn plug.

You have to be careful not to make it to short and unsafe. With the fastchanger if you degas the gun its ok with your setup you chance the plug coming out and having a 12 gram missle. It happened to me lukily no one was hurt. The owner of the gun(not me) had set it up so short that to release pressure the plug came out.The 12gram shot 20-30 feet into the air and off into the woods.

I have done this with ALL of my Sheridan brass. My KP2 has about 1.5 turns to release the plug. And with that, I am not worried about a rocket since there is still a shaft down the tube. I used nylon spacers. It was what I had at the time..

Oh wow, I cant believe I never thought of doing this. My KP is getting this treatment for sure! And to be fair, I trust the shortened threads more than the collar of a speed changer.

While I really like the PPS changer and I have it on my PGP, I may do this to my PMI-1 to keep the old school look it has going. Thanks!

I'm very glad this helped out. I'm usually trying to find cheaper ways to do things just because I hate paying $15 for a hunk of plastic (Speed Feed... you apparently can use a Pringle's can cover and slice arms into it) and whatnot.

I did think about the pressure that can still be left in the gun... fortunately enough I haven't had to change the CO2 in the middle of a game. (Haven't taken the PGP into a real game yet... just casual games in the woods.) I didn't think that it could literally shoot out like a rocket. I was just worried about not losing the plug due to it unthreading...

Hmm, I was thinking of doing something similar to my P68's 12g changer, but I was considering backing out the rod a few turns and keeping it in place with locktite. This would be much cleaner and more easily reversible. Time to find some washers...

That's a great idea, I like it a lot.

I used two nuts and a 1" screw. It also worked with 1 nut and a 3/4" screw. You just have to make sure they are screwed as far to the back(towards the knob) as possible.

I have something fairly similar on my PGPs extended Co2 plug. I never thought of making it longer to act as a speed feed. I now feel like a complete retard.

Question: Do you still screw till its tight, or do you just screw it till it works? Cause it seems to me you would still have to screw it tight.
